A US$ 200 million sukuk issue, Diyaar Sukuk was launched in 2007 to part finance Diyaar Al Muharraq, a real estate development project on land to be reclaimed in the northeast of Bahrain. Covering a total area of 12.2 square kilometers, the project comprise a mixed community of residential, commercial and retail components and is considered one of the largest developments in Bahrain.
