
Mohammed Kettani
Director
Mohammed's experience covers private equity, Islamic project finance, advisory and asset management. Prior to joining CMH, Mohammed has been a Manager in Ernst & Young Bahrain’s Islamic Financial Services Group, providing transaction advisory services to the Islamic financial industries. He successfully advised clients on transactions amounting to USD 5 billion. As an Investment Officer with the private sector arm of the Islamic Development Bank, he was part of the equity investment team managing a diversified private equity portfolio of USD 160 million invested in the MENASA region. Mohammed helped the institution build its capacity in terms of equity projects’ assessment and corporate governance. As a corporate governance consultant with ISS Proxy, a leading advisory firm in the United States, Mohammed has worked with global institutional investors with respect to their portfolio investee companies, providing them with analysis and vote recommendations on various items submitted to shareholders’ vote.
Mohammed Fahim Shelot
Principal
Fahim has over 4 years of Islamic finance experience in consulting, asset management and private equity in Pakistan and the Middle East. Previously, he was a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young’s Bahrain based global Islamic finance team where he advised clients in the Islamic financial sector in the Middle East and Africa. His work involved industry analysis, strategy and concept development, feasibility studies and business plans. He was involved in numerous award winning publications including the Ernst & Young World Islamic Funds Reports and World Takaful Reports and also led the documentation of the first ever Global Sukuk Report in collaboration with Zawya.
He has also worked as a buy side analyst at Al Meezan Investment Management, Pakistan’s largest asset management company, where he covered Shari’a compliant equities in the power and cement sectors and was responsible for providing investment research for equity funds under management. He holds a BSc.(Hons.) in Accounting and Finance from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan and is a candidate for Level 3 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.
Hasan N. Al-Mahroos
Senior Investment Analyst
Previously, Hasan held the position of Deputy Portfolio Manager in the Asset Management Division at TAIB Bank, where he managed the GCC Blue Chip Fund and segregated mandates which focused on the GCC region. Prior to that position, Hasan was an Equity Analyst covering the MENA, Indian and Turkish markets, where he served as a member of the Investment Committee and initiated buy-side recommendations. Hasan interned with Arab Bank and Citibank in their respective graduate training programs. Hasan holds a Bachelors Degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Bahrain, is a Series 7 License holder (registered representative of broker/dealer in the GCC) and is currently a CFA Level I candidate.
Murtadha Mohammed Alam
Senior Investment Analyst
Murtadha was previously a Senior Consultant in Ernst & Young’s Islamic Financial Services Center (IFSC), in which he assisted numerous prominent Islamic financial institutions with improving their strategic frameworks and operational structures. The work performed included market studies, business plans, private placement memorandums and concept papers. He also has assisted in developing policies and procedure manuals, product programmes, strategic roadmaps and job profiles. Murtadha was also responsible for IFSC’s business development initiatives. He has assisted in developing the Ernst & Young World Takaful Report 2009, the Islamic Funds and Investments Report 2009 and has documented Ernst & Young’s section in the Global Collaborative Sukuk Report, published by Zawya in 2009. Murtadha also has authored a chapter in "Global Growth, Opportunities and Challenges in the Sukuk Market"; a book that will be published by Euromoney in the first half of 2011. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance from the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics-Finance from the Lebanese American University.
